How the test timer works

Understand the deadline, resumed attempts and what to do when your connection drops.

Quick answer

The timer follows a server deadline. Refreshing or closing the tab does not pause the attempt or reset its time limit.

The time limit belongs to the attempt, not to the browser tab. Plan your session around the limit shown on the test overview rather than assuming you can pause halfway through.

A refresh is not a pause

After starting, the attempt has a deadline calculated from its start time and the test limit. Returning to an active attempt continues that session. Refreshing the page, switching devices or closing the tab does not create extra time.

If the connection drops

Watch the runner's saving messages. If an answer failed to save and the attempt is still open, use the retry control. Reconnect promptly: time can keep passing even while the browser cannot send a request. Do not assume an answer was saved just because its option remains highlighted.

Avoid opening the same attempt in several tabs. It makes it harder to know which answer was submitted last.

How should I pace myself?

For practice, divide the available time roughly across the question count and leave room to review. This is a planning suggestion, not an app setting or an official exam timing rule. After the attempt, compare where you spent time with the mistakes in your results.

Does the app let me submit after expiry?

The server checks the deadline. Returning to the page cannot restore an expired attempt's remaining time.
