How to turn a mistake into useful practice
A repeatable review routine using results, notes, lessons and flashcards.
In this guide
Quick answer
Name the cause of the mistake, explain the correction in your own words and try a new example. Review guessed answers as well as incorrect ones.
Repeating a test immediately can make the answers feel familiar without fixing the misunderstanding. Give each important mistake a short explanation and a follow-up task first.
Name the cause
Open the completed attempt's review. Ask whether the error came from a missing concept, a misread question, a calculation slip or time pressure. These labels are your own study notes; the app does not diagnose the cause for you.
For example, forgetting a formula needs a different response from applying the right formula to the wrong quantity.
Write a correction in your own words
In notes, record the topic, what you thought, and the step that changes the answer. Avoid copying only the correct option. A useful correction explains why that option follows from the question.
Return to a course lesson when the concept is unclear. Make a flashcard when the missing piece is a short definition or rule.
Check with a fresh example
Try a similar question later and explain the solution before looking at the answer. Then return to the original test and compare the attempts. This routine is a study suggestion, not an automatic revision schedule created by OkuORT.
Should I review correct answers too?
Yes, especially answers you guessed or could not explain. Include them in the same routine so that the next attempt measures understanding rather than recognition.
